I Redesigned the Twitter/X Logo

I decided to redesign the new Twitter logo. That capital X looks like some kind of brutalist monument you would find in the middle of a traffic circle in Belorussia or at the periphery of Moscow.

I thought I could do better.

Transition logo and slight name change

Twitter took one of their more valuable properties, their branding, and flushed it down the toilet.

Fear not, given my years of experience having coffee with marketing and branding types, I decided to redesign their logo to better reflect their evolving content and image.

In fact I designed two of them, one for the branding transition (above) and one for when the only people left on the platform will be angry perverts checking the genitals of children outside school bathrooms.

Later, once users get used to the complete lack of color and the Orwellian vibes on the platform masthead, X can use this one instead:

After removing the corpse of the $10 Billion bird.

I wish I had more to work with. X by itself is a poor choice, but it’s not like Elon named a child after X, it’s just a company, so I changed it into Xeno.

It rolls off the tongue and it better describes the type of posts I have been seeing in…
